Scientific-Practical Conference on "Prevention of Infections Related to Medical Care"
The celebration of Science Day at the Department of Hygiene and Epidemiology was marked by a scientific and practical conference held on April 17, 2026, titled "Prevention of Infections Related to Medical Care". Today, this issue goes beyond a purely medical problem, becoming a significant socio-economic challenge. In the context of increasing antibiotic resistance and the emergence of new pathogens, traditional control methods require reconsideration. Therefore, the conference focused on exploring multidisciplinary approaches to ensuring epidemiological safety. The event served not only as an academic platform but also as a space for active discussion, covering a wide range of relevant issues. Special attention was given to improving the competencies of physicians and nursing staff. It was noted that a modern epidemiologist is not only a controller but also an analyst capable of forecasting risks and developing preventive strategies within healthcare institutions. The conference concluded with a round table, during which practical recommendations for improving infection control systems were formulated. Participants emphasized the importance of such meetings in integrating scientific developments with practical healthcare needs. The conference materials will form the basis of new methodological guidelines and support further research at the department. The successful experience of the event confirmed that open knowledge exchange is key to creating a safe environment for both patients and healthcare workers.
